Today we wanted to take a moment and give an update on foreclosures in the area. In 2017, this is still a topic that we as real estate agents get asked about frequently. Where can I find one? How good of a deal are they? In the past couple of years, the thought behind them has considerably changed. First, there are very few around. According the SWFLA MLS, there are a total of 43 foreclosures in all of Naples, and just 2 on Marco Island. This is an enormous change from just 5-7 years ago. So now that we know about how many there are in the area, the next question is maybe. Is the goal of the person in charge to sell the property a quickly as possible or is it something else? Wow, is it June already? Can you believe how time flies around here? We wanted to take a moment and share the May statistics for single family homes in Marco Island. In May, 2017 there 51 new listings of single family homes which brought the total to about 335 total home listings on the island. There were 47 homes that closed in May which is a 9% increase over last May. The average sale price for those closings was $990,564 with the median at $785,000. Marco Island is full of fun activities. One thing we pride our island on is the adaptability of normal items and give them an island feel. Take yoga for example. Did you know that Marco Island has beach yoga? Yes, that is right! You can enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Mexico right next to you during your yoga experience. Class is offered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm. Thursday through Sundays, there is class at 8:30 am. The cost is by donation, $10 suggestion. Bring a friend! All skill levels are welcome. This yoga experience is held on the south end of the island at the beach access point near the Apollo condominium. It is the corner of South Collier and Swallow Ave. One of the teachers of this class is one of our own agents, Laurie Kasperbauer. Want more information?
