Are pools necessary on Marco?

Are pools necessary on Marco?

With the hot Florida sun shining down on us in the middle of August, we thought it might be a great time to talk about pools in single family homes. People ask us all the time whether they are popular and if they make a difference in the sale of a home. The answer is a resounding YES! Pools are very popular, especially if you are considering renting out your home. It is one of the first questions our rental division is asked. We find in the feedback from guests, oftentimes it is the ability to sit outside on the back lanai while the family plays in the pool and grill up food that guests enjoy most. With our beautiful Florida weather, why wouldn’t you want to spend a relaxing weekend poolside? Just to give you an idea of how popular they are in our area, did you know that of the current 303 single family homes currently for sale, 275 of them have pools? That is 91% of the current inventory! Looking for more information about homes with pools on Marco Island? Contact us today!

What is summer like in Marco Island?

What is summer like in Marco Island?

Good afternoon everyone!

Today we received a question from a customer that asked us to describe what the summers are like on Marco Island. To answer that, we asked a couple locals and guests to give one sentence and here were some of the responses!

“Long days make for lots of fun at the beach and on the water.”

“I love the warm water in the Gulf of Mexico.”

“The restaurants are quiet and we get to try all the local spots without any lines.”

“Best time to come to the area if you can bear the heat.”

“A great opportunity to explore the things you don’t have time for during season.”

To sum up what these kind people said, the summer it is a fantastic time to be here. Are you a boater? Great, you can take a joyride out on the water after work because of the late sunsets. Want to watch a pretty sunset? Some of the sunsets in the summer are the best as they set with a distant rain storm as a backdrop. Are you a golfer? Play a round after work and be able to possibly squeeze in a full 18 holes. There are so many wonderful things to do here in the summer.

What do locals do for fun on Marco Island?

What do locals do for fun on Marco Island?

Good morning!

Today we wanted to answer a follow up question we received to our blog yesterday. The question was simply, “what do locals do for fun in Marco Island?” To answer that, we asked a couple locals for their answers and here is what they had to say.

“I love to fish so for me, there is no better way to spend the day than miles offshore catching fresh food for me and my family to eat.”

“I simply enjoy being on the water, so going out on the boat is my favorite activity. On the boat we can go water skiing, go to one of the islands, or take a ride down to Goodland or into Naples for lunch.”

For a couple of us in the office, we enjoy playing golf. When we have a couple hours, we hit the links and enjoy playing a variety of courses in the Naples/Marco Island area.

As you can see, there are many different types of activities to enjoy here in our paradise, but the one thing most of them have in common is our love to be outdoors. With this great Florida weather and the consistent breeze, there is nothing better than being outside.

Marco Island Things to do

I’m moving to Southwest Florida, bring it or donate it?

I’m moving to Southwest Florida, bring it or donate it?

Good morning,

We hope you all are having a great week. When you decide to make the jump and relocate to Naples or Marco Island, there are many items on your checklist that you need to. What furniture am I bringing? Do I want to bring the winter coats? What about all the stuff in the basement?

Well, here are a couple tips that you may find useful! First, those winter blankets and thick sheets? Donate them. And while you are giving some items away, don’t forget the winter coats as many homes in our area don’t even have coat closets at the front door! Our winters are beautiful here!

As for furniture, everyone has their own style, but one thing to ask before paying those movers to bring your stuff should be whether that bulky table or large sofa is part of the color and design scheme of your new purchase. You would be amazed how often we see new owners bring something 1,500 miles and then decide to go a different direction with some of their furniture.

There most likely will be a couple items that you will be adding to your collection upon your arrival. For example, are you moving on the water and thinking about getting a boat? Don’t forget the life jackets and other boat supplies! Is a boat more than you want, and are considering either a paddle board or kayak? You may want to create some space in your new garage to be able to store a couple of these items. Maybe you are moving to a golf or tennis community instead. Don’t forget to make room for your golf clubs or tennis gear!

Rain, Rain

Rain, Rain

Hello everyone,

Drought? Not anymore. Today was a unique day in Marco Island. In the 30 years of living here, I have never seen so much rain accumulate so fast in my entire life. The rain began last night and did not let for hours. It came down in buckets, then lightened up, then came more driving rain. There are road closures on the island due to flooding. In addition, there is more rain on the horizon. We wanted to remind everyone to take a few minutes extra when driving around the area today and to be safe.
